Week 5 Learning Curve

This week was difficult. There was a variety of assignments due and it seemed a little overwhelming. I had to invite my classmates to my various sites and then I had to visit some of their sites and comment on their work. I found that all of the sites I visited were very well done. I need to spend more time on my sites so they can actually be used by my students this fall.

My different sites are : Please feel free to visit them and add your comments or suggestions.

Week 4 Learning Curve

During week 4, I had to create three different sites on facebook, ning and pbworks. I found the facebook and ning sites very easy to manueveur. I was having difficulty with the PbWorks site. I plan on spending some time with PBworks to make sure I am confident with adding assignments to my page. I would like to also make sure I add links to sites that I find most useful for my students.

Week 3 Learning Curve

Well since I already have a Facebook account, it was fun completing some of the applications. I completed a poll regarding Sarah Palin running for President in 2012, what's your Native American Indian Name, Which Gilligan's Island Character are you?, and Who is your Guardian Angel? These were fun and quick to complete.

I also joined a few sites on Ning. They seem to have a wealth of information. I will be interested in spending some more time on Ning's site.

Week 2 Learning Curve

During the course of extensive reading from Will Richardson book: Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts and Other Powerful Web Tools for Classrooms, I have learned much about how Wikis can be used in the classroom. Before my reading, I was not aware of how much Wikis can help our student's collaborate on assignments and thus increase their learning. I am excited about creating my first Wiki. I have decided to create a Wiki for my classroom this fall and use it as a reference tool for our parents.

Why Teachers Should Blog

I am taking a class for my Master's Degree and for part of my assignment, I needed to create a Technology blog. I did some research on the topic and found several different blogs out there that support my position, Why Teachers Should Blog. Follow the hyperlinks and check them out for yourself. I am learning a wealth of new knowledge. I love it.
